Players Performance Institute has advanced my game in ways I never thought it could. Chad Cook has been a blessing to my career and an important part of my golf success. He has helped teach me the importance of mobility, stability and strengthening in a way that improves my golf's performance and helps prevent injury. His incredible knowledge, his positive attitude and energy he brings to every session is above and beyond expectations. His ability to do a full evaluation to build a program that is custom to your needs (Golf Fitness Handicap) is second to none. I look forward to lowering my Golf Fitness Handicap everyday and with Chad's help I know I will be able to achieve my goals. Trust me, if I can do this anyone can!

Golf has been my passion in life for as long as I can remember. From day one I was mesmerized by the game, the professionals, and all the wonderful things that this sport has to offer. Growing up the son, grandson, and nephew of golf professionals I was never at a loss for knowledge of the game. And playing professional golf has been the only thing I've ever wanted to do. What once started out as a dream became a goal and now it is a reality. I have been blessed to have great instructors, contacts and friends within the business; but, not one person has made the impact on my golf game that Chad Cook has.
When Chad first moved to The Golf Club of Georgia we had met a couple times before and I was always very interested in what he did and the benefits that he could provide my golf game. Having never been a person who understood the importance of golf specific training I did not know what I was missing out on. I was the type of guy who would go do an hour of cardio, a few crunches and then go practice at the golf course. Having had the opportunity to work with Chad has been the most influential and beneficial thing that could have ever happened to my game. You may think I'm over stating or exaggerating but in all honesty I would not be the player I am today without his tireless efforts and guidance.
When Chad first approached me about sharing our work and accomplishments over these past 17 months I truly had no idea where to begin. I wanted to be able to share that I am a completely different person now than I was a year and a half ago. My diet has changed in ways that most people couldn't imagine. My body has changed in ways I never imagined. My mind and confidence is at a place and level that I didn't know existed. My overall outlook on life has changed and all of these things can be directly correlated to Chad, the work that we have done and the things I have learned from him. I wanted to share the level of knowledge about the body, health, fitness and the game of golf that he processes. I wanted to share how he is included in every decision and change made within my golf game and how he can make things easier or expedite any changes made. I wanted to share what type of man Chad is and the type of role model that he is for me. So many things went through my mind as to what I wanted to write about.
And now for the most honest bit of information… I wanted to share those things because I knew how great he has been for me, my game and most importantly my life. But until I sat down to reflect and gather some information I had no clue as to that extent and depth of the work that we have done. It's not often that a professional golfer sits down and looks back on a year or things as a whole, or at least in my case its not often, but what I saw when I compared the before and after was something that made my jaw drop! As I share the following information please keep in mind that the only difference between what I was doing last year and this year was the work with Chad.
Since losing my Nationwide tour status at the end of the 2009 season I have played a mixture of Monday Qualifiers for the Nationwide tour and a full season of tournaments on the Egolf Professional Tour. Both 2010 and 2011 had very similar amounts and types of tournaments. I had what I felt was a very successful year in 2010. Little did I know the improvements that I was about to make.
In 2010 I played 15 events on the Egolf tour and finished in 28th position on the money list. I had a career best scoring average of 70.52 and I shot in the 60's in 20 of the 54 rounds that I played. Not a bad season in most people's eyes. But, when comparing the number s from 2011 I truly understood the level of improvement that Chad helped me find. I played 12 events on the Egolf tour in 2011 and had a scoring average of 68.60. That is almost 2 full shots less a round than my previous best yearly scoring average. I shot in the 60's in 28 of the 40 rounds that I played. And the stat that I am most proud of is that I had 1 round over 72 throughout the entire season, compared to 15 the season prior. Stats don't lie! And the results of this kind are blinding!
I could never truly appreciate the improvements made until sitting down and reflecting. It's hard to remember how I felt before working with Chad, or how I looked, or how I performed. But I know this, not at any point in time in my life have I felt as great as I do now, have I performed at a level that I am now or think the way I do now. Thanks to Chad I made the appropriate changes in my life to be healthier and better. My fitness, diet, mental outlook, lifestyle choices and golf game are all for the better because of Chad. I owe him so much and am so very blessed and thankful to have a man like him in my corner. When I look back on the lessons that were instilled in me by my parents and role models I was always taught to be the absolute best that I could, in every aspect of life. These are the same things that Chad teaches and thanks to him I feel as though he has helped make me a better person. I am forever indebted to Chad for all of his efforts, words, thoughts and encouragement over the past 17 months and truly look forward to each and every time that we spend working together. As I continue to strive to reach loftier goals and improve in all aspects of my life I am comforted by the fact that I have the ability to work with and be pushed by Chad. But more importantly I am happier that I can call him one of my closest friends.

I am 63 years old and have been playing golf for about four years now. When I started I took a series of lessons and played about one per week. My game improved bit by bit into the low 100's and sometimes dipping into the 90's. My frequency of play increased to 2-3 times per week, weather permitting.
Last year progress slowed and although I was taking regular clinics/lessons, my game did not seem to be getting better. I learning new things from the clinics and lessons but my performance was not improving. I was losing yardage on my drives. My irons were less perdictable. My handicap deteriated from high 20's to a winter time 34.
Last winter, I decided to start a regular fitness program, and so I sought out someome who could help me get in better shape and help my golf game. The golf pro recommended Chad. Since I started working with Chad about six months ago. My handicap has gone down 9 strokes! While some of that is from transitioning form winter to summer play, I also recently shot my personal best of 86. I am now routinely shotting in the lown 90's and dipping occasionally into the 80's.
Chad has helped me prepare muscles to perform in a way that is required by the game of golf. Without the physical conditioning that Chad provided I was not able to hold the right balance, achieve the needed extention in my limbs, or get the muscles to fire in the right sequence. With Chad's help, my body is more cabable to execute the techniques I learn in my golf lessons. I have now built a stronger physical infrastructure to take advantage of the golf lessons. To get maximum performance I need both physical training and golf lessons.

Before I discovered Players Performance Institute, I used traditional golf instruction and three years of very hard work to drop to around a 12 handicap. Clearly, my swing & game were decent, but I was plateauing in the high 70s to low 80s on those all too rare "good" days. Far more often, my ball striking and scoring were highly inconsistent. With modern technology, almost anyone can see and understand the advanced moves top players & pros make; after many months of diligent practice, I still couldn't produce them myself. Ultimately, the frustration led me to Chad Cook.
After my initial evaluation, Chad customized the first phase of my program based on the need to improve flexibility, posture, balance and stability during my swing - where a lot of my inconsistency was coming from. A good description of my Phase I is it was like building a solid foundation. From there, he gradually added golf-specific strengthening routines that also were geared toward maintaining balance and stability. Now, I'm working on improving the timing and quality of my kinematic sequence, which is how energy is stored and transferred throughout the golf swing. If you've wondered how the pros hit the ball so far, this is a major key that I'm now actually learning.
The reason Players Performance Institute works, and what sets it apart from traditional instruction, is the exercises are highly specific building blocks in developing a pro caliber swing. These are the same exercises the pros use. Each Players Performance Institute session has accompanying homework, and is focused on mastering a building block. You don't move forward until you have mastered each in succession. Chad continually monitors, re-measures and tailors each student's program. Like the exercises themselves, the technology he uses is state-of-the-art. At this point, I am combining Chad's sessions with traditional golf lessons. For the first time, I'm confident that I have the found correct formula to develop as golf swing that is efficient, powerful & truly repeatable.

When I first inquired with Chad Cook about golf fitness, I had no idea what to expect. I was looking for someone to help me design a proper workout program that would enhance my golf swing vs. detract from it; all while maintaining my fitness regimen. What I found was an expert. From the get go, I noticed how knowledgeable Chad was on the subject of fitness in general but I was very impressed with how he unites fitness with the golf swing.
Thoroughness is an understatement for Chad. His ability to assess individual capabilities and assess specific needs is uncanny. His methodology for customizing my individual program was actually fascinating to me and made perfect sense. I have realized noticeable and measurable improvement since we started and I can only attribute this to Chad's methods, coaching, technology and techniques. Chad has changed my entire approach to fitness and golf game in a very positive way.
By working with Chad, I have learned that he is truly an expert in fitness, golf fitness, the golf swing, biomechanics, nutrition and mental health strategies. More importantly, Chad produces results. Chad and his approach would be a great resource for anyone looking to enhance their golf game, golf ability and overall health.

What began as a Christmas gift from my wife, evolved in a change in both of our lifestyles. We have always been fitness oriented, but Chad took us to a new level that we didn't know existed. Mobility, stability, and strength are now a part of every workout. I had been a member of TPI and CorePerformance.com, and so was familiar with golf specific and core exercises. But I'm here to tell you that without a knowledgable and dedicated professional guiding you, well, you might as well try to learn the golf swing just by reading a book. You will never reach your full potential. With Chad's expertise, we have changed our golf swings because of increased mobility, stability, and strength. It's funny, but the stronger and more flexible you get, the less effort goes into keeping everything connected. And that means greater distance and consistency. Looking back, I realize that my golf swing was one compensation after another. It caused pain and adaptation. You can't swing like a pro if you can't simply move like a pro. The program was one of the best things we have ever done and we highly recommend it to everyone.
